When I think of head hair growing I think of the three things needed to grow grass in a field. Water, Soil(nutrients/minerals) and light.

The two systems seem similar. Grass roots are like capillaries. I'm trying to figure out what could make a small section of grass go bald like the horse shoe pattern in male pattern baldness.(I would guess my scalp is slowly losing something necessary for good growth(maybe testosterone))Slow receding The horshoe pattern seems universal. Anybody have any ideas or anybody know of more similarities in grass or nature which may open different routes of thinking of how to counteract male pattern baldness.

Here is a link to a photo of hair and one of grass

Yes. But just like the fact that soil/topography everywhere on planet earth is not equally fertile with desert regions being more barren than others, Similarly, All human scalps are different with some being more barren than others. But just like human ingenuinity can transform and produce an oasis in the middle of the desert, We can make use of the so called fertilisers (propecia, minoxidil and sundry) and try to grow some grass.... Happy farming!!
And you know, it doesnt always have to be lustrous green grass. If nothing else, I hope you atleast grow some weed.. ..Atleast It' ll be worth the smoke....
I have to go back to ploughing my field now...

I like to think like that too :). A little bit Regaine for the seed and water to keep it going and the thistle root stuff for the fertiliser to speed it up. And I'm planning to change the soil with Propecia to less destosterony -- hopefully the blossoms will be out then :).

There's a fundamental difference between the two. Grass is a complete living plant, whereas hair is dead matter which is formed in the hair follicle.

When you cut grass you're still leaving same amount of root which absorbs nutrients and so the grass then grows faster.

However, cutting hair will not make it grow faster because it's not living matter - contrary to a popular myth.
