I was just curious:
From what I observe, the hair on the sides of our head and back, closest to the neck, remain the longest and often forever even on the worst of hair loss. I rarely if ever see someone who has absolutely NO hair .. plenty have it shaved, but the hair enveloping the lower scalp even seems fairly thick on most regardless of balding or not. (I know there are exceptions).
My question is -- I have some recession mainly in the fronto-temporal area.. maybe a little beyond a Norwood II or so. However, when I feel the thickness of say the area receeding, the crown.. and then feel this area around the lower scalp.. lets say close to my neck at the back of my head -- It feels similar. My hair all over top to bottom feels very thin. It would seem natural that in the areas thinning it would feel much less thick and the closer I got to the lower sides and back the thicker it would feel as a progression. However, this isn't the case it is very consistent throughout.
Is this strange? Does this indicate anything?
I have also noticed that the outer edges of my eyebrows are almost gone.. very much different than just a few years ago, and especially in my late teens etc. (I am 31 currently). The outer third of each eyebrow or so.. no one would notice it really casually,.. but if you look at it , it sort of looks odd.
The only thing I can think of is my GAD, anxiety that has been exceptionally high for the last year or so.
I don't think my recession is due to anxiety or stress.. I won't pull that card in denial, but could the even thinning level from top to bottom all over the scalp in general be?
I don't seem to shed much at all taking a shower, or over my sink. Ex: If I rub my hair rather aggressively over the sink for a bit I might see 5-7 hairs at best. I would expect 20-30+.
Maybe it means nothing, just a few inconsistencies I've noticed.
Anyone experienced similar?
