Hey guys,

So just a quick question on hair shedding.
What is considered hair shedding? Hair that falls out on their own of hair that is kind of forced to fall out?
I mean for myself as an example, I only notice hair shedding when I literally put my hands through my hair and rub vigorously on top of a white paper to see if any hair falls out. Some times during the day, I might see like 5 (When I do this) and maybe in the mornings after getting up and going through my hair hard for a minute, I might see 10ish.

But in showers, I don't notice any really, even after taking a shower and looking at my towel, maybe two or three. Is this normal?
Also, do everyone have miniaturized hairs? I mean is it normal for some of your shed hair to be thinner vertically? Like going from thick to a little thin. I asked my local derm and she said like around 15-20 percent is suppose to be thinner hair than usual because of hair cycles.

Anyways, thanks for your help!

I've heard people saying that they went bald without noticing thier hair falling out. The one you described about hair being thinner vertically is called minaturization of hair follicles by the way, meaning your hair grows thinner and thinner til its completely dead.

Do you wash your hair with shampoo? Look at your hands after rubbing your hair with shampoo before rinsing them.

I never notice any hairs on the towel, but I notice like 10 hairs on my hands after rubbing shampoo in my hair.
