HAIR STYLING OPTIONS

Ladies,
I have read that a simple "bob", all one length may make hair look thicker, etc.
What style do you ladies use to help hair look fuller, etc?

BTW...had a weird dream last night about my ex cutting off my hair. :freaked:

Eek! What an awful dream!

Anyway, as for hair styles, I also read that a short bob would help.

But for my hair, all the volume is at the end and the back, where I have the most density. Therefore if I chop it off (and remove the fried ends), my hair will look noticeably thinner. It really sucks.

Therefore when I do trim it, I ask for really choppy layers. My hair at the longest is at my bra strap in the back and in the front is at my collarbone. But the last time I got a trim, the girl messed it up so it looks really boring

Sometimes when I use the volumizing/thickening shampoo, I use mousse to help give it a bit more boost, though within an hour or two, it gets flat again :hairy: dang this condition!

Sorry, this probably didn't help very much. Frankly, wigs are getting quite attractive looking...

Happy holidays,

Laura

Thanks for the post. :)
Is your hair layered near the front as well?
The reason I ask is b/c though I have some diffuse thinning all over and a spot at the back of the head (crown?) that is thin, the most noticeably thin part of my hair is at the front of my head! Ick! :x
I've also noticed and thought that wigs might be a nice option...the only thing is that when I do wear a piece I feel like a fake for some obscure psychological reason that I can't pinpoint :p

My hair is about shoulder length with some layering action going on. Since my hair is very straight and thin, I think the layering helps but I also cut my bangs so that I could bring my hair forward to cover the balding areas. I think that it helps hide things a bit but it's not a good style for my face. It makes my face look fuller than it already is - plus I'm 44 and bangs seems "too young" although if I had a perm, bangs usually look okay. More info than you needed to know, I guess? :0
By the way, I ordered 2 travel sizes of Toppik - medium brown and light brown. The medium looks so dark on me and the light brown doesn't provide as much coverage so I use both colors together. It seems like most of it falls in the sink or on my forehead when I use it. I'm not as happy as I was hoping but it is helping cover the bare areas somewhat.

Hi, Renee.
Thanks for the post.
I actually use the Couvre more than the Toppik. It is applied directly to the scalp, it's like a cream, rogaine can be applied right over it. I use it and then, on days when I think I need extra coverage, I toss on some Toppik.
It's a definite trial and error w/Toppik and Couvre. I prefer Couvre, though, less itchy, etc.
:D

Hi Lentara,
I'll probably try the couvre but I'm afraid I'll pick the wrong color. My hair is brown but has some blond highlights to it. Anyway, I'll get brave and give it a try soon. Thanks for the info!

Hi Renee,

I believe you can blend two colors of Couvre together.

Happy New Years!
