I’ve used topical Perrigo minoxidil for 4 months, Roman 2.5 mg minixodil for 5 months and added Saw Palmetro Berries 525 mg 2 months ago. I see definite hair follicles but the hair coming out is still thin after 8 1/2 months. Does any of this even work?

It can take 6-12 months to see thicker hair with minoxidil and supplements. Thin new hairs are a sign it’s working—they’ll thicken over time. Stay consistent, and consider consulting a dermatologist for personalized advice. Patience is key

Ugh, I feel you – I tried liquid minoxidil for almost a year and had the same frustration. My scalp was always itchy and flaky (thanks, propylene glycol ), and the baby hairs just stayed wispy. My derm finally suggested switching to a propylene glycol-free foam, and it’s been a game-changer.

I’ve been using Erylveka’s foam for 5 months now – zero irritation, and the formula actually stays put instead of dripping everywhere. The tiny hairs along my temples are finally getting thicker, and my stylist noticed less scalp showing through. I still take my supplements, but the foam feels like it’s doing the heavy lifting.

Maybe the liquid’s irritation was holding you back? Might be worth trying a gentler formula. Just my two cents!

It works marginally at best for most people. Oral minoxidil works far better but makes you hairy everywhere.

Saw palmetto is perhaps capable but unlikely to promote hair growth or stabilization. To the extent that it works, it does weaker things than dutasteride and finasteride by far. Rule of thumb is that nothing herbal works ever, anywhere for hair regrowth or feminization. It's a waste of time, focus and money not to mention you never know if you are getting viable doses. Most seem to be garbage.

Except for keto, no shampoos work or have any effect except to strip hair and keto shampoo strips sebum bare which you don't want unless you are male where sebum can often be overflowing and bacterially and virally poisonous. Nutriol is an utter and complete scam. If you want to try something natural that might marginally work, try Polysorbate 80 or 60. Finasteride or really dutasteride is as good as it gets for men who want to keep the hair they have and maybe regrow a little.

It's incredibly easy to think that you see new hair when they are still villus. I still have problems at times telling whether a hair is new.

Hormonal therapy is incredibly powerful and a person can use natural and not synthetic hormones but except for minoxidil, nothing else will either stop hair loss or regrow hair and that's with a huge caveat because minoxidil seems to have a large contingent of very unhappy users.
