Aight here's two albums.

wet hair - https://imgur.com/a/uzjbF

dry hair - https://imgur.com/a/d0ayV

It doesn't seem like i'm above NW1 in some pics, so before calling me a BDD f***** (which i by the way also am), please go through all of them.

I think I have about zero crown hair loss, but my temples are starting to go, i'm also losing about 100 hairs a day (that I can count), and probably a lot more that go under my radar. The scalp itch and redness are also killing me.I remember having inflamation the first time i started suspecting hair loss and it just came back about a week ago.
Although my hair might seem thick on these pictures, I can assure you that it was way thicker last year. Hopefully it stays like this, but I really doubt it would, since my dad is between NW5 and 6, at the age of 50, and honestly - he was probably Norwood 3-4 at 25 years of age , as seen in old pictures of him. He did have curly brown hair while I have straight black hair (mothers genes, her whole male side is a bunch of full heads) , but I doubt his hair colour and type have anything to do with his male pattern baldness. Derms didn't let me get on fina in the summer, this week i'll be visiting another derm, hopefully he takes my situation more seriously.
Also, my hair no longer has the volume that it used to have, and often seems flat as f***. I'm losing strong hairs that were probably already at the final phase, but also some weak looking, spider web like hairs which I think are just minituarized.

Derms are dumb sometimes, i went to see 2 derms and since i have long hair they said: oh you are loosing your hair but its not noticable so wait until it gets worst then i'll give you a prescription.

Just go to a walk-in clinic and ask a general practitioner for a prescription. Or see your regular general practitioner. A doctor doesn't need a "special license" to prescribe finasteride. Any doctor can do it. I never saw a derm to get it when I started on it years ago. Just a regular general doctor.

It might depend on the country, my personal doctor tends to act all righteous and rarely prescripts me something if he doesn't know it works for sure. Doesn't hurt to try though
What do you think about the pics by the way?

Very mild early hair loss. Definitely showing corner recession. If you do get on finasteride and minoxidil, you have a probably ~90% chance of retaining and staying good long term.

Doctors are a matter of random luck when it comes to hair. Some will just say "balding is natural so accept it". Others may be willing to help. If you can just go to walk-in clinics, I would go to random walk-ins until you find one who is open minded. I have probably been lucky.

Just a short update on my situation ~ 4-5 months later: https://imgur.com/a/3yj9F
Right side still not showing obvious recession, left side still kinda messed up compared to the other.
hope that Cope doesn't see this thread

You have the exact same type of recession as me and exactly the same family history lol. Except my dad was NW7 in early 20s but everything else the same.

makes sense we have the same recession if we have similar genetics

I think your doctor is correct. You don't have hairloss. You're not balding at the moment. Minor temporal recession doesn't mean male pattern baldness
I'd have to disagree, because as I wrote - i've also lost density (although its still far from diffusing). Considering my paternal genetics I'm sure that my concerns are reasonable. You know what everyone here says - better prevent it than trying to regrow later

I know, but did the doctor conduct a miniaturization study throughout your scalp?? That's the most infallible method of predicting whether you're balding or not.

Seeker is right. Some MINOR recession, which you do clearly have does not always indicate male pattern baldness. How old are you? Your receded part still looks strong and thick, especially with the bright light in the newer pics. If you were progressively receding you would see a clear thinning in the corners which you don't have. Forget the fina pill and take a chill pill instead

f*** that derm. Trust me,you don't have hairloss right now. As andy said, the temporal thinning of a classic male pattern baldness case progresses gradually towards the inside of your scalp. So first you'll see a region where there's no hair at all(clear temporal recession) followed by a region of hairline that is reasonably thinner as compared to the hairs behind it. As you go inside, the thickness of the individual hair strands increases which depicts a classic case of male pattern baldness thinning;it progresses. Your hairline at it's outline is as thick as all the hairs behind or around it. Hence you don't have male pattern baldness as of now. Trust me man,I saw all of your pics and you have damn good hair. If you're still paranoid,i would suggest you to book an appointment with a competent dermatologist ASAP and ask him to conduct a miniaturization test on your head. What he'll do is basically check the quality and thickness of your hairs from the back of your head to the hairs on your male pattern baldness prone regions. If there's a marked difference between the quality of hairs from both these regions ,then he'll confirm that you're balding. This is the only foolproof way of calming down your anxieties. Members like us can surely tell you're balding only if you're past nw2. But a close case like yours demands an in-person examination.

Lol my hairline is noticeably worse than yours and I don't think even I will end up as a NW4 by 25. ( I'm 20 too )
Why not just stay off treatments until you hit NW2?

why would i want to hit nw2 in the first place though
Because you don't know for sure if its male pattern baldness until you do. Even girls who rarely go bald on top can get NW2 hairlines. My sister is a full blown NW2 and she sure ain't balding.
