HELP! Two questions about getting back on Minoxidil.

Gents,

Stemming from hubris, laziness, and incompetence; about three months ago I made the mistake of stopping Minoxidil after achieving some fantastic results. I'm extremely mad at myself for doing this as I've pretty much lost what I gained. I am now back on Minoxidil and hope that I can get back to where I was. With that said, I have two questions for anyone who can answer them:

- Can I expect faster results since I was previously on Minoxidil?

- Can I expect to get my previous gains back?

I must admit this has been a particularly depressing experience as I had achieved some excellent results and felt better than I had in years. I was getting girls galore and just felt happy about life. It felt SO GOOD to not be paranoid about my hair and not have to wear a hat to feel confident. Now I've fallen back to where I was and it's all due to me... Anyways, I'm ranting now...

Any insight/experience is GREATLY appreciated!

Keep the faith gentleman!

I have stopped my all my treatments including minoxidil at least twice over the past 6 years.

Strangely and oddly enough I did manage to get my gains back, once I stopped for 8 months the other 3 months but yeah I managed to get all my vellus hairs back and some regrowth also, it is not always the end of the world you just gotta keep it up since it keeps whats there and then trys some....

You will know in 3-6 months use anyhow and when you look in the mirror !

Sharpe,

Yeah, stick to it. The good news is that you were a positive responder to minoxidil in the past, which means in all likelihood you'll get it back. The bad news is that, during the time you allowed your hair loss to get worse, your hair follicles were damaged by DHT and the whole blasted process of balding.

I'm sure you've mulled it over, but I would strongly urge using finasteride.
