Hi people... i'm 23 this year from singapore. i have just started on finasteride a month ago. was on minoxidil for about a year though.

when i first started taking finasteride, everything seem to work pretty well. i've noticed my hair loss each time after showering was reduced significantly.

however, recently... my scalp started having dandruff. my hair started falling off as much as before... or perhaps even more.

whats the cause of dandruff and how do i stop it? please advice me!!!

i'm losing my confidence.

I am not sure what is causing your dandruff, but if you stopped Minoxidil just recently it may be possible that you now are losing hair because of it. Once you start minoxidil you should never stop it if you want to maintain your hair.

i'm still on minoxidil now... only started on finasteride a mth ago after following up with some of the threads here.

i've noticed regrowth along my hair line... but the thing that's bothering me now is the back of my head is beginning to bald too... this is traumatising.

I feel with you, mate! My hair is making me desperate as well. Do you use minoxidil on the crown as well? The crown is usually the best part to be treated (just to give you some hope).

when i first started using monoxidil... i only apply it on my hairline ... only about 2 mths ago when i was having my hair cut... the stylist told me that i'm balding at the back of my head too.

i didnt believe it until he had it there on the mirror.

now that i'm aware... i would normally apply minoxidil evenly from the hair line... to the top of my head... around the crown and the back of the head.

there're surely regrowth. but i'm not sure if its gonna be fast enough at the rate that i'm losing those hair. :(

You need Nizoral shampoo. Use 3 times a week.

givememyhair, if you recently added minoxidil, 2 months ago, then it could be that you have just induced a shed of the hairs you weren't previously using minoxidil on. I got this because I too started on my hairline then moved to crown/top. I wouldn't worry, and if you're getting dandruff, use nizoral as IBM suggested.

i'm currently on pregaine clear gel shampoo... it doesnt work too bad with the medication... just that my hair feels kind of dry.

i've been on minoxidil for more than a year...
