From what I understand, when someone starts Finasteride, there (may) be a rise in hormone activity as the body tries to equalize.

Also, I understand that when one stops Finasteride, since the body may have been

I know I have been affected by these hormone changes because I couldn't get Finasteride for a few weeks, and when I went back on it, I started to get ACNE (in addition to a fairly big shed). I was fine during my first course of Finasteride with regards to that.

With that in mind, 2 Questions:

1) When stopping Finasteride, in order to minimize any kind of hormone spike OR to encourage the body to begin to lower the hormones, is it better to A) stop the drug cold, or B) gradually stop by taking partial pills?

and...

2) is there any THEORETICAL way to "reset" the hormones to an earlier level, perhaps by stopping for a week or something like that?

Thanks everyone.

For how long were you on Finasteride before you couldn’t get it for a few weeks? How many days exactly were those few weeks?

I’m asking cause I’m experiencing something similar. I was on Finasteride and minoxidil for 7 months and I couldn’t get it for 20 days (Finasteride). Now I’m back on it (12 days since starting again) and I’m experiencing some big time shedding.

If anyone has gone thru this please let us know your experience.
