hey guys,

I finally have to admit that my crown is thinning. I always had a strong whirl so you always so a bit of scalp but within the last 2 years I guess it thinned out quite a lot. Pictures are taken without flash but under bright light

Is Finasteride only enough to try to thicken this up or should I also add Minoxidil from the very beginning?

Cheers!

You’ve lost a lot of hair from the looks of it, jump on finasteride right away. I’d say you still have a solid 2 years until full bald spot

Finasteride may be enough or it may not give you the great regrowth you are looking for. Some people say you should start Finasteride first and then Minoxidil however I think if you want solid regrowth you should use both.

I finally settled on Lipogaine (sensitive) which I really like as opposed to Rogaine liquid which shredded by scalp.

Finasteride should be enough. Atleast to maintain, but you should regrow some and it’ll b near unnoticeable

My crown was like your maybe even thicker and I was using minoxidil for overall diffusing but i decided to switch to finasteride as i thought minoxidil was making my skin look bad...anyways i'm about to go into my 9 months on finasteride and my hair looks like sh.t! i'm diffusing and thinning badly i have to wear hats and cut my hair shorter and styling it differently...it looks like i have male pattern baldness and in my family we only have diffusing...crown looks the worst now being on finasteride...these ppl on forums say finasteride can cause shedding and hairloss but actual doctors says the opposite! that finasteride itself shouldn't do this. i believed ppl online saying keep going and shedding is normal which i believed but now not sure....google ppl hair been destroyed by this drug before jumping on it.

finasteride + minoxidil as others suggested. Id just use minoxidil on the actual bald spot nowhere else. Save money plus dont risk shedding everywhere else.
I think my crown is worse than that. I have the finasteride just debating whether id rather be bald vs a pill forever and the risks with that.
Baldness is not the end of the world despite the attitudes on these forums.
