How Do I Lose The Hat

Has anybody here worn a hat in public constantly and then given it up? I'm approaching a time when I know I'm going to have to ditch the hat and I'm obviously not looking forward to it at all.
I've worn hats for the last 4 years since I started cutting it really short and nobody (including family) has seen me without one in all that time.
So how do I do it? Has anybody experienced that moment where they lost the hat and went out with a naked head for the first time in years?
Hopefully somebody can give a little guidance to me in this matter.

not sure.. but i'm going to ask.. how do you work? does your job allow you to wear hats?

I was self employed up until this time last year so I could wear what I wanted (which was the reason for going self employed in the first place)
I've been off work for a year but I reckon I'm going to have to get another job within the next 6 months so judgement day is looming and frankly, I'm terrified.

Be proud of who you are, and don't get into a habit of wearing them, even though you already have.

Consume 1x Xanax
f*** 1x - shower, bed, or coach
Consume 1x Sandwich of your liking
Never wear a hat again

Haha, just kidding, but seriously, don't wear a hat. Go cold turkey.

Well you need to have a strategy as to what you're going to do about your hair.
I wore a hat (cap) for about 20 years and didn't go out in public without it. Fortunately, I was in a job where I could wear a hat without looking out of place. In the interim I had a series of hair transplants to repair the damage done from earlier surgeries and bring the volume & density up to scratch. I'm in a good place now and ditched the hat about 3 years ago when I moved to SE Asia.
