How do we identify Gyno? (and other questions)

I´ve been "looking" for gyno ever since I started propecia, much because I like a lot of people had some "semi-gyno" i puberty.

Whats making it really hard is I´ve not really looked that closely before finasteride. Now I discover what *might* be a slight increase in fat around that area. Nothing bad (the opposite actually.. look way stronger) more like its "normal" now and was very skinny before. Only noticable when im relaxed, not when I flex, and definatly only noticable for me. And not "visually" noticable either.

Other than that: The first months of using propecia I discovered the nipples got very hard as soon as it was a bit cold. I´ve had a very close look at that since, but it hasnt gotten worse at least.

When I read threads here a lot of people speak of liquid actually coming out of the nipple. Nothing like that. If I had that I´d panic and stop.

But, as stated I might have a sight increase in fat, and my nipples get hard when its cold (I think more than normal, but it might be me overthinking it).

So, questions:
- Should I panic about the above?
- In general, how do we identify gyno?
- If we have identified gyno, what to we take to counter it?

I dont feel like this should put me back if nothing major develops. Im not planing on taking finasteride. for the rest of my life anyway.

go to a doctor...don't try to diagnose yourself from the internet. The worst thing you could do to yourself is that.

I´d actually like some input from you guys.
Yes, eventually I´ll let a doctor check it out. But theres a few problems:
Theres pretty much no chance a doctor would look at me today and say "hmm, might be developing gyno, yes..". 99.9% he will say something like "your normal". Second, we all now how doctors threat propecia. They´ll look at a website and say "ah, dont worry. come back if it gets worse".

With the help of the internet you actually have a chanse to take precautionary action before something worse happens that has to be threated. Dont now if it works differently in the US... Might, since you pay so much $ for your doctors. Here they like to solve things as they happen, not prevent.

I understand what you're saying and we're on the same side here....believe me.

The internet and random faceless people on a forum isn't even close to a substitute for a doctor. I am sure some are arrogant enough to believe the help they give is as good as a real doctor by flinging out a few links to articles but a true doctor is what you need.

Sure...the internet is great for minor issues but gyno is serious.

From what the Doctor told me, you should get a soreness/tenderness there.

All I know is it is breast tissue, not fat. How you can tell the difference I don't know. Maybe get an estrogen test? You can get one for $40 at www.beyondacenturyonline.com. You go pay a nurse or someone to draw the blood, then you have them send it in, and the lab tells you if your estrogen levels are high. It does not prove or rule out gyno. But if you have high levels, you can then go to that doctor and say, "but my estrogen levels are high" and show the test results when they are about to send you away. Some doctors don't order tests because they think there is a 90% chance they are not needed. But if you got time and money go for it. There are labs that will do it for you.

www.beyondacenturyonline.com:
Hormone Test Kit
$50.00
HORMONE TESTS, SALIVA-, Two hormone kit from ZRT Labs. Inexpensive, non-invasive tests for 8 possible hormones: estradiol, estrone, estriol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, androstenedione, and morning cortisol. You purchase the 2 hormone kit, check off which 2 hormones you want tested, send samples to lab, then lab sends you results. If you want to test more than 2 hormones, you simply enclose payment for each additional test with your sample. ZRT details your hormone health history, supplementation, & current symptoms in order to provide an integrated report of the test findings. We find ZRT’s tests more appropriate than others for those who are already supplementing with hormones or herbs. Please note HORMONE TEST results can NOT be sent Internationally or to New York, and California residents need a note from a California Health-Care Practitioner for the lab work to be processed. 1 kit, 2 hormones, $50 Code 733.0

What fascism. I would have them send the results to another state, and tell them I live at that other address. Basically, if a doctor in California says you look healthy, you have no right to have a test done yourself. I can understand you not being able to TREAT yourself, but not getting tests is just dumb. It is your money, and you are just drawing a little blood. At worst you waste your time.
