How long did it take before you had a (mostly) bald spot?

Asking because I've been thinning for going on 4 years now and am still not bald on the crown. My good friend diffused almost completely on top in less than 2 years so I'm just curious what kinda timeframes are common.

Go ahead and vote if you're experiencing frontal/temporal thinning, those count as bald spots too.

I have two little spiral things and the left one turned into a noticeable little spot in about a year (just under quarter sized). I started taking finasteride and in 4 months thats the best result I've had--it's filled in all the way already.

2 - 3 years. With my bald spot i am talking about a temple recression of 4ish cm so its an agressive v shape
