If I was you i would get on finasteride and minoxidil asap

Nah not at all, I am also 21 and on finasteride. But go see a dermatologist first before jumping on it.

Its not that simple dude. If you went to a hair loss Doctor they would want you to start finasteride asap, if you were willing of course. Even if you were hesitant to take it you'll have to take it prior to a hair transplant.

Yeah this is a fool's errand. At the rate you're going, you'll be bald by the time you're in your upper twenties. Then you'll be too far gone.

You can start with using minoxidil 5%.

There are solid reasons to be reluctant to take finasteride. Unfortunately, as of today, I don't think there's anything beating this treatment (apart from duta obviously but it's "same same but different").

I would say you have two options:

• Going for finasteride but accepting the possibility of sides, which means you should read about this treatment before taking it ;
• Going for other treatments that usually have less sides (although some had bad experiences with minoxidil). I would recommend minoxidil + dermarolling and if you're reluctant about minoxidil, go for zix.

It is always the same issue with hair. People really start looking into treatments once most of the hair is gone. The earlier, the better.

If you decide to go the finasteride route, I would suggest starting low (let's say 0.25 mg every two days) and ramp up if no sides.

It is not time to panic. Don't be dramatic. You are fine. You have a full head of hair.

i) The fact that you are bald on the temples does not mean you have an AA. It could just be your hairline maturing.
ii) You mustn't neglect that you could be receding though. Are you shedding more than you used to? Do you witness unusual amounts of hair strands in the shower/on your pillow?

Finasteride is a dangerous and strong treatment that needs to be taken very seriously.
