How to move from Propecia to Avodart?

I have been taking propecia for a few months, doctor told me I should switch to Avodart 0.5mg daily.

If I'm taking 1mg daily of the finasteride how should I make the switch?

I was thinking first 2 weeks
2x a week dutasteride

Then 3 x a week for 2 weeks and then daily after ?


The reason I'm asking the same old tired questioN is because of so much contradictory information out there.Some people say switch straight away to dutasteride . Some people say take BOTH daily for months ?!?

How long you been on finasteride? I would give it 6-8 months before changing the regime, dutasteride was great for me initially then the eventual T raise caused thinning on the hairline and temples.

Not for very long, however I personally don't believe I will have any issue with the hairline. I believe this issue occurs to only a minority

I'm willing to take the chance. I have very aggressive balding

It doesn't take long for dutasteride to suppress DHT levels similar to that of finasteride, i would just make the switch to dutasteride daily, if you want you can mega dose dutasteride early on to reach peak serum levels and DHT inhibition quickly.

That's reassuring. I probably will opt not to mega dose dutasteride haha, let the sleeping dogs lie I guess or at least don't prod them with a stick...

Good luck with it, I switched over gradually adding dutasteride EOD then eventually dutasteride daily essentially swapping finasteride days for dutasteride days.
