I have red on revivogen.com that you must slowly switch from minoxidil to Revivogen...but how slow exactly?
Should I just start to decrease the dosage or apply it only 1x a day???

Really? Can you provide the link? minoxidil is a growth stimulant while the Revivogen is a DHT blocker for the scalp. I use both...If you discontinue the minoxidil I expect all the hair you grew with it will fall out and no DHT blocker can prevent that from happening, afaik.

Q. I am using Rogaine® and/or Propecia® and don't want to stop using them. Can I use Revivogen at the same time?
Yes. Revivogen is made of all natural ingredients that have no side effects and do not react with other medications, including Rogaine® and Propecia®. You can safely use Revivogen with other medications.

Yeah, I'm not sure why they tell you to slowly switch---you will lose any hair you grew with minoxidil whether you quit all at once or quit slowly, unless you've only just started. I wouldn't trust the people at Revivogen---just look at the phony before/after pictures. I'm not saying it doesn't work, but I wouldn't bet my hair on it.

What do you mean I will loose my hair....it will fall and regrow right?
I doubt that it will kill follicles?

What about these new studies? :dunno:

What I'm saying is that whatever hair that you've grown because of the effects of minoxidil, or whatever hair has been kept in the growth phase artificially by the use of minoxidil, will shed if you stop using it. It may grow back, but this is no guarantee, even if you introduce Revivogen. It's the minoxidil that these hairs are thriving on, and once you stop using that it's anyone's guess what could happen.

I'm not sure what studies you're referring to. Revivogen has no valid studies for hair loss that I'm aware of. My suggestion is if you've been using minoxidil for any length of time, you really should think twice before dropping it in favor of an unproven product.

I included Revivogen in my current treatment and I reduced Minoxidil to only 1xday.

What studies?
Haven't you checked on "Announcements and Updates" section of forum?

I've seen that study. Did you read it? It doesn't provide any proof that Revivogen works for hair loss. Again, I'm not saying it doesn't work, but there is no concrete evidence that it does and I certainly wouldn't exchange a proven growth stumulant for an unproven product that works by an entirely different mechanism. I think minoxidil once a day is enough for results, though, so if you want to try Revivogen go for it.

beaner, what does the study suggest then?

Because there was a big announcement on this forum around the time, saying VERY PLEASING RESULTS.

So, to me, I thought it said that revivogen was actually better for your hair regrowth than topical finasteride?

why can't you use both, instead of switching?

block DHT while use a growth stimulator?

Therefore, the growth you achieve, won't be destroyed by the DHT.

I understand the logic of having the DHT blocker protect the hairs that you managed to have stimulated from the growth stimulator, therefore they shouldn't be attacked by the DHT.

but why not just use both at the same time for maximum effect?

Well naturally you can. Its just that some people prefer to keep treatments and cost/time spent to a minimum.

Maybe because its a topical applied to the same site. I doubt it would work myself though and would keep using minoxidil even if in a reduced amount.

You guys don't think that would be strategic and effective?

it seem mad to me why, if you are willing to put time and money into saving your hair by using MIN, you wouldn't use a topical DHT inhibitor alongside it.

one or the other doesnt make any sense. unless you are content with your current follicular situation/aren't losing hair.

im also confused - is there a link to where it states that you have to slowly move from one treatment to the other?

This is the same opinion I have.

a topical DHT inhibitor? Does that mean its a liquid form too?

Where can I get this? Does it work?
