like the title states ? new here...new to everything.....will likely be getting a DHI FUE next month and wondering if minoxidil foam for a few months would be good but I read minoxidil is more for top/scalp not hairlines/temples ? dont want to mess with finas/dutas....any thoughts on minoxidil and actual regrowth or hair anywhere ?

will i have to keep taking it or can i take it say for 3-6 months following the surgery and then stop ?
You'll have to keep taking it as long as you want to maintain your hair.

Personally I couldn't tolerate finasteride, had sides so I hopped off it even though I had transplants.

The alternatives are topical creams that reduce DHT in the scalp (topical finasteride/dutasteride/Proxiphen).

If you're only going to use minoxidil, I'd recommend either oral minoxidil or liquid minoxidil. The foam isn't as effective. If you're gonna get a transplant, they'll put you on finasteride. If anything would you consider taking a microdose of finasteride? If you don't want to use finasteride. Then minoxidil either oral or liquid. Dermarolling and ketoconazole shampoo, hopefully Nizoral 2 percent.
