After speaking with my dermatologist, I switched from propecia to proscar. My monthly prescription would allow me to take 2.5 daily (1, 5mg proscar cut in half). Currently I am a year and some change on propecia, I have seen very poor results. The shedding has been steady since beginning the medication. I wonder if I should expect to see an improvement with a larger dose of the finasterside or should I expect the same results?
Also those on propecia and on a budget, I would recommend looking into proscar. I will be paying roughly $10 a month for a larger dose compared to $85 per month with propecia. My doctor was very supportive of the switch and assured me it was "99% the same" drug, aside from the dosage.
