Increased shedding within first week?

I know there is a place dedicated to shedding, but I think this belongs here.

I started propecia and took it for one week, and in that time have noticed a pretty unsettling increase in shedding when I shampoo my hair. Reading about hypoandrogenicity, or something like that, naturally i'm concerned about it.

it stated shedding usually occurs at around week 12, and if you get increased shedding almost immediately that you are having an adverse reaction to the drug.


does anyone have any personal experience with this? i'm shedding hair from all over, and some are way more miniaturized than others.

Hey mate I had the same reaction but powered through it up to and past the 12 month mark and the shedding just got worse and worse, it is rare but some people can get Telogen Effluvium from taking propecia I certainly experience it and lost well over 60% of my hair density in the end and have been off the drug for 2 weeks hoping for the best!
