I have been experiencing very rapid hair loss over the last two months. I finally found a good dermatologist that specializes in hair loss, Dr. Philip Bruder in NYC and he gave me a script for a panel of 19 different blood tests to ascertain what is going on. But Bruder's office told my insurance which is normally really good, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield Direct Acess(NJ) refused because "it is cosmetic." The person I spoke to over the phone told maybe I could go to my regular doctor(which I don't have) could get it recoded and accepted. So I went to the same urgent care clinic I always go to see if they could do anything and the doctor there said they couldn't help me if the specialist couldn't. But I think that doctor is very new and timid, or maybe both offices just suck at medical coding. Bruder's office coded the whole panel as:
L65.9 - Nonscarring hair loss, unspecified

Here is the blood panel Bruder ordered with my name blurred out:

A lot of the tests are good to know or run from time in general anyway in a checkup like total free testosterone, DHEA-S, zinc levels, vitamin D, PSA, etc. What do you think?
