Not only that they talk about RU, but they also describe a method to increase the topical effect and reduce the systemic absorption!
Many users (me for example...) suffer from systemic effects even with topical antiandrogens. this could be "THE CURE" for us.

Well the problem RU has in coming to market so we can actually buy it is the same problem all androgen treatments have. Prevention isnt what sells product. Lots of men the majority have lost lots of hair and want something to regrow large amounts of hair not keep what they already have. I certainly think RU or something like it is exactly what we need to prevent male pattern baldness entirely as long as you take it, but sales of it might not be spectacular because after all what results are you gonna see? Not much.

That being said its a very promising treatment that you can only hope someone actually makes it and gets it to the US and other countries.

I remember when I first read a little about RU58841 on this forum. I was very excited. Then I found out it has been around for years.

What is the hold up?

I don't think that they are doing particularly well, at least by the standards of the industry. I looked at Merck's 2005 report (the last I could find specific Propecia sales data on) and Propecia sales were $292m in 2005, compared to $741m for Proscar and up to $4bn for the likes of Zocor (a statin), Fosamax (for Osteoporosis), and Cozaar/Hyzaar (hypertension drugs). On the upside Propecia sales are growing, and its patent doesn't expire until October 2013. But it seems like a very niche product.

Sure. I would expect it to work about as well as Propecia, maybe even a little better.

Also they said that they linked RU to the SLNs with hot homogenisation. What is that exactly, mixing and heating?
