Is Dr. Lee's 2% spironolactone still effective if used for 1 hr?

Hi,

I have been using Revivogen and Sprio 5% 1x a day for years. I added Tricomin Spray last year and am using it for about 1x a day for 4 to 5 days a week.

My hair in the front is continuing to thin slowly, and I guess it’s expected after 5 years of hairloss treatments. The space where my hair parts is becoming wider.

I was thinking of adding 2% spironolactone in the morning to achieve optimum results for maintenance in the front, but I want to wash it out before leaving my home. So can 2% spironolactone still be effective if I apply it in the morning and leave it on for about 1 hr, and then wash it out? I would still use Revivogen and spironolactone 5% in the evening, and Tricomin 4 to 5 days a week.

Do anyone think adding 2% Sprio in the morning for 1 hr would help? Leaving it on longer in the morning is not an option.

Thanks.

Yes, one hour is enough, in fact, I believe Dr Lee advises the same thing. The 2% spironolactone solution dries very quickly like his minoxidil, and I believe spironolactone is supposed to metabolize very quickly and have a short half life. An hour for his 2% is probably more than enough time.

How long have you been using tricomin?

I have only gone through one bottle of Tricomin. I am currently starting the second bottle. I have started Tricomin since last October, and using only about six sprays on my thinning areas (mainly frontal diffuse thinning, and a bit on the crown).

Tricomin makes my hair a little greasy so I only use it on days when I get home after work, so about 5 days a week. Then I would wait about three or four hours later and then apply Revivogen, and wait another hour or so to add the spironolactone 5% lotion. The Revivogen and spironolactone 5% are applied every evening for the most part. I have missed a few days here and there.

The days I shampoo with Nizoral I tend to skip Tricomin because I think they do the same thing. Perhaps I should give Tricomin a chance before adding 2% spironolactone in the morning. If I add 2% spironolactone in the morning, that means I have to wake up earlier and I know it’s something I won’t be using every morning. Also, adding 2% spironolactone increases the costs of using all these products. Maybe I will wait it out and see how Tricomin works out for me.

I just have one last question. Can I apply Tricomin in the morning and wash it out after 1 hr? This way I can use Tricomin 2x daily. The second Tricomin application would be on longer then the morning application.

Thanks.
