Is dutasteride really safe?

I know many of people on these forums have been on dutasteride. And I have read countless threads of people having success on it. It's obviously three times more potent than Finasteride which increases its chances of side effects. I don't know but I have rarely seen anyone talk about side effects from dutasteride as much of people using Finasteride.
I have read about its clinical trials. The phase 3 trial was discontinued due to financial issues which couldn't get it approved for hair loss.

My question is - Is dutasteride really that safe and are the side effects of it over exaggerated like Finasteride?

Stupid thread, yes it's safe. More safe than Finasteride probably although I can't back that up with studies because no one can be bothered to do any. The reason less people report sides is because A) Less people take dutasteride than finasteride B) A lot of the people that take dutasteride are people that have moved on from finasteride since finasteride is such an inefficient drug compared to dutasteride C) Inhibiting more DHT could somehow make the user less likely to get side effects and if they do, for the side effects to be less serious than finasteride ones.

dutasteride is not approved in a lot of countries and is not considered save by many health authorities.

You read less about dutasteride sides in forums because less guys are taking it, like hairloss23 wrote. But in addition to that, many take finasteride first before they switch to dutasteride. These guys make this move because they do not have many or any side effects with finasteride and also do not have much an effect with finasteride.

It is as you write it. dutasteride is more potent and has then more sides as well... for the the guys for which finasteride does not do much finasteride also does have less side effects.

If you really want to consider dutasteride I would start with finasteride first and see if there are any side effects for you. After everything is fine you can jump on dutasteride.

Nice points. Agreed.
