Is finasteride making me feel high?

Been taking it for about a week and a half, no other side effects, but boy do I feel out of it. I feel like zoned out all the time. Not quite sure how to explain but it sorta feels like I'm not really here. I felt similar when I was taking Ritalin (for ADHD.) It's not necessarily a bad thing I guess, just odd. Anybody else getting this? I guess there could be other explanations other than finasteride, but it's the only thing I've started taking recently.

You might suffer from depersonalization/derealization just as me. I doubt finasteride is the cause, it's more likely from stress and/or anxiety.

Look it up, it's worth a shot.

This is the exact side effect I felt... I believe it's just anxiety.. your subconscious bothering you that you're on meds

Yep got that once after smoking tons of marijuana. The world did not feel real like I was living through someone else. It's pretty frightening, but went away after awhile. Only reason I was able to find out what happened and the reason was because I saw a movie about the same situation I was in. The movie was called Numb. I still smoke just not as much and haven't experienced it again.

A decrease in neurosteroids may affect those that are prone to such feelings, as they may already have a lower level due to co existing mental health issues. I believe RedStar has ADHD/depression/anxiety and reported the same thing. I mean it could be placebo too obviously. Give it time and see if it goes.

How long until this left you?

Honestly until I got to the point where I didn’t spend every waking moment thinking “I’m on finasteride right now” I’ve had so many situations where I felt brain fog when I first started finasteride where I was like “f*** this is because i took finasteride, I’m off today” these are the thoughts that would fog my mind when I thought I had “brain fog” it wasn’t until I let those thoughts go that I realized the only brain fog I really had was me constantly thinking about finasteride. With that said, I do notice a difference in fatigue when I’m on finasteride in comparison to off it

Ah I think we are different. Mine is so bad I literally feel like I’m detached from reality I’m a physical sense. Like my vision lags and I feel like sorta out of body. I think it’s hormonal maybe. It sounds like yours was “do I feel weird?” Maybe. Mine is “holyshit I feel like I took lsd”
