Is Finasteride works for me?

Now, I'm using Finasteride 1.25mg/day for about 3 months but my hair loss didn't stop or slow down. Is there a possibility that some people need more than three months to slow hair loss or stop it? or finasteride does not work for me?

Many doctors will say that you should at least wait a full year until deciding it doesn't work for you.

Thanx Benjamin, but I;m really freaking out... Wherever I read, everywhere it says that hair loss is reduced or stopped after 3 months. I really do not know what to do.

Calm down Bud, this is a quote directly from the Propecia website:

Most men in the clinical studies saw results 3 to 12 months after starting PROPECIA. If PROPECIA has not worked for you in
twelve months, further treatment is unlikely to be of benefit

Kirby, for now I didn't notice any shadding, no itching or burning... No sides... Just my hair is oily (I think becouse of minoxidil).

what does are your pills? 1 mg? 5 mg? this must make a difference.

Giant, I'm using Proscar devided in quaters... So it's about 1.25mg per day.

that may not be correct. another user on this site called the manufacturer and they said the drug is not distributed evenly throughout the pills, which makes cutting them less effective. seems to me you'd be better off taking 1 mg pills every day.

I can't becouse in my country i can't buy Propecia. Merck didn;t put it on the market here... I heard a lot of people using proscar for hair loss and they saying that it work for them...

It will probably not regrow, but what existing hair you have could thicken up and make your hairline look better. Finasteride doesn't regrow hairless portions, but it significantly thickens what hair you have remaining.
