Is It Normal To Get Hair Through The Lace Under It?

Hi guys,

Is it normal to have some hairs find their way under the lace? See the pic. This is after wearing about ten days, but it's about the same every time I remove it. No glue or tape on this area. They don't come off if I pull gently.

I've had this piece for maybe 4 months, and been wearing it for much less than half of the time - alternating with my other piece roughly every two weeks. When it's off I always wash and rinse by running water through the lace from underneath.

What's typically the cause for this, or is it normal? Does knot sealer help? Should I pull them out, cut, or just leave them?

A certain amount of it is unavoidable. There are usually 2 causes - (1) rinsing the piece with the water hitting the hair side first, which you are quite rightly avoiding; and (2) pulling the piece off your head or pulling tape off the piece before the adhesive bond has been fully broken using alcohol. Could it be the second cause in your case?

In any case, there is nothing you can do once its happened except cut the hairs off. It doesn't look too bad in that photo.

Thanks Noah. Glad to hear it's not too bad. I was just wondering if there's something else I'm not already doing to avoid this.

There's no tape or glue on this area. I'm using Ghostbond XL in the front and Walker ultra hold on the PU area on the sides and back. For me Ghostbond is easy to remove, and there's actually less hairs going through the lace on that area. On the PU area I feel it's safe just to pull the tape off, and not to worry too much since the tape is not in touch with the lace or hair.

When the hairpiece is off I try to be careful to run the water hitting the lace first. The only times running the water from the top side are when taking a shower, so perhaps that's when it happens, and therefore not fully avoidable.

Very certain way to get pulltrough is scrubbing with a brush, for example a toothbrush. How do you clean your base from glue?
