Zinc taken orally is good for your hair..not sure about topically. There's no need for head and shoulders when you are applying Nizoral because Nizoral is also an anti-dandruff shampoo(possibly the best one out there)....it's just a waste of time and you might be deprecating the effects of Nizoral with Head and Shoulders. It would probably be best to wait an hour or two after getting out of the shower to apply minoxidil b/c applying right after might interfere w/ Nizoral's positive effects of hair loss. If you don't want to wait then it would be best to apply when your hair is slightly damp to get the best possible absorption of minoxidil. Just my 2 cents

Head and Shoulders and Nizoral use 2 completely different types of rx.

First off head and shoulders intensive solutions uses 2% pyrithione zinc

And Nizoral uses Ketoconzale 2% or 1%.

Anyways I stopped using Nizoral because I had an allergic reaction to it: Producing more dandruff, inflammed scalp, dry hair.

So I switched to Head and Shoulders and things have gotten better.

In my opinion, you can use head and shoulders before Nizoral.

Topically is the same as Orally, They just crunch up the pills into a type of shampoo or liquid instead of pill based its liquid.

You should get the same benefits if not more.
