Is it okay to microneedle on a scalp which has spots?

I've read online that microneedling should not be done on an area which has active acne or other skin issues

Topical minoxidil seems to be working well for me but I have a few spots around the scalp and overall the skin isn't in great condition. I wonder if I will be doing more harm than good to microneedle in this situation: 2mm once a month

It's hard to tell from this image but those distinctly coloured spots are what I am talking about.
Maybe I can ask my dermatologist to avoid them- or maybe she'd be the person to ask in the first place

If you have a substantial amount of inflammation, then don't roll. The whole point of needling is to stimulate positive inflammatory markers, but if you have high (negative) inflammation present that's attacking your follicles, you would just increase this.
