Is it really necessary to take finasteride every day?

I believe taking 0.05 mg every other day, or even every third day, seems to be sufficient. Will it be as effective as taking the full dosage everyday? Probably not but it could potentially reduce the risk or severity of side effects. I think a micro-dose such as this combined with a topical AA like spironolactone would be an ideal combination to slow down hair loss.
Now I am no expert, this is just what I have gathered by doing a little bit on searching the web and I could have missed some key information that could debunk my theory. But I am considering giving this method a shot.

0.5mg EOD is working wonders for me. I don't see why not!
Hi jord - could you elaborate?
I tried taking 0.25mg per day a few months ago, and got side effects. I am now thinking of trying again at .25 EOD... I'd like to hear more about your experience.
