Is It Too Late? Or Are My Hair Still Salvageable ?

I didn't notice how bad my thinning has gotten until today, when for the first time someone that hasn't seen me in a year noticed my thinning and he wasn't afraid to point it out. I only turned 22. Here is a picture attached.

Can I start on finasteride and get some of my lost density back or at least maintain this? Or is it too late? Because my front hairline is nice and full but the back is..well..as you can see. My hair is a little greasy in this picture after a whole day plus working, usually it doesn't look this bad if I shower and just style it normally. Also what norwood is this? I'm guessing NW3 but I honestly don't know.

Read on finasteride and see if its something you're willing to take. Note though, people do experience sides with it but for the majority they are not long term.

You can also try minoxidil in the mean time.

By taking finasteride and minoxidil you can maintain what you have (if you respond well to the drug) and perhaps maybe even regrow (since you are young).

I did try minoxidil like two years ago when I noticed a little crown thinning and did a course for 6 months. It worked like a charm and I had significant regrowth at the crown. But by the end it gave me severe seborrheic dermatitis and just got annoying put on twice a day so I discontinued. I want to try finasteride and nizoral shampoo to see what happens. Problem is, I have heard nasty sides about finasteride, otherwise i would have hopped on it 2 years ago when I first noticed thinning, but now its gotten out of hand.

I know how you feel man I deliberated for about 6 months or so lurking here and reddit and seeing the horror stories. My loss isn't as aggressive but I still wish I had gotten on it sooner. For a couple days in the second week I experienced watery semen and lost some morning erections, but since then everything is back to how it was before I started (been on for 2 months). I would seriously consider.

Your hair looks a lot like Raphael Nadals in the early stages of diffusion

You can get it back

Or you can have hair transplant

Yea my dad was a diffuse so I'm following his pattern. He went completely bald by 35-40 and started around the same age as me. I'm hoping finasteride will regrow some hair and hopefully I can keep this for at least 10 -12 years lol.

Not a transplant yet, I wanna keep this for as long as possible. May be in the future.
