Do you feel the need to embrace a "Badass" persona? Does it bother you that that's not who you really are?

I'm 6'3". I don't like it. I don't want a woman who loves "how small" I make her feel. I resent the fact that being tall, I have even more pressure to "embrace" my size like it's a plus because I'm bald and so I can pull off the Big Badass look.

I hate being a big bald guy because I think the "badass" image is ghetto. I don't think it's cool to look like a bouncer or a boxer.

Does anyone else feel like they're obligated to adopt a badass image because they're bald?

Try being a balding manlet. Then you'd b**ch about being too short. Your height is ideal IMO. Not freakishly tall, just tall enough. If by being a bald "badass" means having some muscle with a shaved head, then by all means sit on your couch eating sh*t food while jerking your meat with your greasy sausage fingers.

Being tall is like having a big dick with girth and length, it is overrated.

I've posted on here before about my insecurity about my hair loss being amplified by my size, so I would like to hear more. I've had others say things like "I'm 5'6" and balding, so for you to be 6'3" and hating how you look..." and while I can appreciate how they feel, I resent that tall/big guys don't have as much "right" to dislike their hair loss.

I don't see my height or size as freakish, but it bothers me that I am not only big, but bald as well. It has made it harder for me to deal with because I see the "big bald badass" archetype as trashy and not what I want to be seen as.

That's brutal but I had to give it a like as it made me laugh.

As to the OP: unfortunately, our culture really only allows a few roles to the stereotypical bald dude, very few if you're not bald and old. Almost all of them are negative, the bald badass killing machine is pretty much the only positive, attractive role allowed to bald men. People go on and on about Jason Statham and Bruce Willis, but if you notice they very rarely play complex lead roles in outside of indie films, they're pretty much typecast in Hollywood as unstoppable killing machines. Unstoppable killing machines who get the girl, but violent automatons none-the-less. This likely has to do with perceptions of bald men, who are seen as more masculine and dominant but less attractive and trustworthy (see my thread here). It sucks but my advice is, if you can build muscle, hit the gym and embrace it. You'll do better with women the closer you approximate this ideal as a bald man, and you'll also do better in your career and in other relationships in which you're trying to gain something out of the other party.

From the comments, I have no right to complain about being bald because I'm tall/big and that I shouldn't care that I'm bald because I can work out and adopt that Big Bald Badass stereotype.

Regardless of height and hair status I'd advise anyone to add some mass, run, and eat healthy, as this isn't always about attracting the opposite, or same sex if you bone dudes or eat muff.

Idk if it's just me, but when I think of the bald "badass" trashy type I think of someone with neck tattoos who's unemployed, smells of booze and cigarettes and just has a sh*t attitude. You can be bald, tall, fit and dress classy and not give off this stereotype you are so afraid of.

Baldness will always sucks, tall or not, not gonna argue with that, but if one must compare between plague and cholera, being a balding twink manlet is way more compromising than being a "big bald badass" in today's society

I can understand the frustration of people who say, "So the answer to losing your hair is to become a perfect person in every other way...."

I try to take a grain of salt with every comment I receive online, since it's pretty easy to take a cheap shot at someone, but it frustrates me that my only option is to embrace my height/size and work out. I understand it's harder for smaller guys, but that doesn't mean every guy who is my height loves it. I have, in the past, listed my height as 6' even to dissuade women who were into big guys, since I would rather not have to limit my dating pool to those who are into 6'3" broad shouldered bald guys. I feel like I'm missing out on anyone with any taste.

I get what you're saying dude. Why can't people perceive you as a sensitive guy with a big soft side? Unfortunately that's just the way society is. If people take the time to get to know you they'll see the truth if they care to see at all. But first impressions matter and they are what they are. It's difficult neigh impossible to come off as both attractive and sensitive while being bald. It sucks. Baldness does rob us of our ability to project our personality via our hair. If you want to wear a beret with a flower in it and a scarf and carry a copy of bell hooks with you wherever you go be my guest, but that won't be seen as very attractive once you take the beret off. If you want to be seen by women you're going to have to embrace the bald beast image, and yes different types of women will be attracted to you than to the sensitive NW1 with the amazing locks. You just have to roll with it man.
