I don’t see thinning.
You had an insane hairline in 2016.
Maybe now the the insanity is leaving room to a “mature” hairline .
I wouldn’t worry. I would just keep taking pics to compare.

I bought Nizoral shampoo and plan on starting it tomorrow.

Should I also see a doctor for a finasteride prescription, as a preventative measure?

It's slowly creeping into a mature hairline, but it's still a juvenile hairline.
