So after many (5+) years of finasteride/propecia which worked for a while, I was starting to really lose ground fast and didn't want to do nothing while I diffuse away and wonder if I could have done more. I'm transitioning to dutasteride. So far starting by adding 0.5 dutasteride about 2x week in place of finasteride --- yes, I know some say the finasteride might be pointless if taking dutasteride, but I've heard it takes time to build up dutasteride in your system, plus I was 'hoping' to avoid any major shed or even side affects by easing on. Before someone asks, yes I am using generic dutasteride however I get it from my local, legit pharmacy.

At this point it's too early to say results, but I've noticed an increase in scalp itch. I've already had itch for about 6+ months on and off, but I have nights where it's really bad. Not sure if shedding has increased, but partly because I've been shedding for many months before ever adding dutasteride.

I don't recall much if any itch when I started finasteride years ago. Has anyone experienced itching starting finasteride or dutasteride? Can this ever be a good sign or is itching always considered bad with male pattern baldness? I use Nizoral 1% at least 2x week and as far as I know I don't have dermatitus or other conditions.

I'm going to get my DHT (and other stuff) checked in the next 2 weeks just to make sure I didn't see some type of increase.
