Itchy Scalp, Finasteride Hasn't Helped It! 30 Days In..

Hi All...

Here is my story, 26M, long thick curly hair... Around 26 months ago I woke up one day with a terrible ache / itch all over my head... Mainly the top side *Where male pattern baldness is mostly hitting..* I tried everything over 6 months to stop the itchy, which as time progressed I noticed a hell of a lot of hairs falling from my head.

I am now 30 days into finasteride, this Itch is still here! It will not go away, I use Nizoral also.. I only take Finasteride to help with the itch / make it subside.. Has it been to soon? Any advice is welcome. Thanks.

You should talk to the medical professional that prescribed you the propecia about why your head itches. Just because a guys head itches doesnt mean its from male pattern baldness it might be dandruff, seb derm, or any number of things. You dont want to take propecia for no reason. Try the simple things first, and if its male pattern baldness then go down the propecia path
