Itchy scalp from Nizoral

I don't (yet) have any diffuse thinning, but I use Nizoral (2%) as a precautionary measure at the moment. I use it about 2 times a week and only leave it in for about 2 minutes as I find that it makes my scalp itch / tingle after I use it.

It's somewhat ironic as, when I use it as directed, it irritates and inflames my scalp.

Would I be better off carrying on using it minimally like this, or should I 'downgrade' to the 1% formulation?

(I'm not really sure which forum Nizoral best relates to so i chose here, if it's better off somewhere else please move it / tell me so I can delete and repost).

That's strange. My hair and scalp feel awesome when I am done with my Nizoral treatments. I use it it about 3 times a week, but I'm told that it should only be used twice. And I keep it on for the full 5 minutes. I use it when my scalp starts getting itchy, and the Nizoral puts a stop to that for a day or so.

I've read that it can be too intense for people with sensitive scalps. I would try the 1% formula and see how that works. You said you don't really have any hairloss to speak of, and are just doing this as a precaution, so the 1% should be fine.
