I have only just discovered this site and I hope there is someone to talk to out there . I am going out of my mind , I would never have believed losing your hair could be so devastating . I don't know any other women with a hair problem. I have had several male friends who were bald and it didn't bother me or anyone else but fr a woman its just not accepted .
I am 56 and although have never had beautiful hair I could always manage to make it look presentable. In the last year it has become unbearable I can do nothing with it at all it is so thin and fine and the hairline has receded all round the head a couple of inches .I bought a wig but can't wear it as it itches so much .I went to the doctor but all he did was test my blood and when he found no thyroid problem sent me away saying there was no help . I used to have a really good social life but now I am to embarrassed to go out as everybody stares. I used to be so confident but not any more.
