Just added Rogaine to my regimen. Have some questions.

Ok, I think with this move, I am now basically on the big 3.

Just did my first application of Rogaine 10 minutes ago ;)

1_Rogaine prospect says it only works on the crown. Is this true? Do you guys use it for the hairline too? What are the chances in that area?

2_If I get side effects in the first weeks, can these effects go away after some time? (like with Propecia)

3_How long you wait until you wash your head? Rogaine says it takes 4 hours until the absorption ends (I'm asking specially in the morning application when you need to go out with clean hair and not greasy hair, I don't care if i go sleep with shitty hair)

4_Do you guys think that if you rub the product with your fingertips, it will make more effect? According to Rogaine it is not necessary though.

5_Should I consider spironolactone, xandrox, or any other topicals products for the future? (to use in addition to Rogaine)

Any advices, suggestions and tips are very well welcomed.

Thank you guys.

Ohh, and here is a pic of my situation, so you have an idea, of my affected areas:

Yes it will work overr all the scalp (to an extent), rogain says this because they only tested it on vertex

Depends what side affects, flakes and itching should go away if u use nizoral and t-sal

If you use rogain 4 hours, if you use Dr Lee's 1 hour

Yes rub it in for a few seconds after you apply it

Yes, spironolactone

stick to the big 3.
if you were to add more, add copper peptides or SODs.
don't waste money on xandrox.
spironolactone might be useful.

If you were to add I would add CP's & spironolactone.

You have the same diffuse pattern as me but my temples are receeded more. I'd assume you were about 19-20 though.

Thank you to ALL for the responses!!!

Do you guys wash your hair on a daily basis? Can I consider washing it every other day if I don't get itches with Rogaine?

Goingat20 very good info, thanks for that. :)

techprof you are always helpfull, thanks ;)

And -cj- thanks you for the info and the link. I started losing it when I was 19. I am 25 now.

I think I will try to order topical spironolactone online, because in my country, we have only oral spironolactone.

Greetings.

Wow, it's progressed slowly. Mine rapidly progressed :(.

I would was it everyday, 2x daily minoxidil gets pretty messy. Definitely opt for topical spironolactone!

Good luck and keep us updated.

Exactly, I think it has progressed slowly in general. But I have had my periods, where I lost more than 100 hairs a day. And other periods where I lost only 10-20. And I was not sheeding, because I was not in treatment. Right now I am losing a lot of hair, although I think it's a Propecia shed. But who knows.

Also, the only thing I used to "try" to combat hairloss, before I started on the big 3 this year, was the fabao topical, which people say it is a scam. I stopped using it when i started on Propecia, I don't know if it has helped, but one thing is sure and is that it has solved my itching problem during the 2 years I used it.

Also, I heard that it contains minoxidil in a small dose (1% or 2%), so probably that is what helped slowing it down. Although I used to apply it only 2 or 3 times a week. I just wonder where I would be today, if i had used it 2 times a day, every day, like minoxidil. :hairy: :hairy:

Well at least you're doing what you can do now. I'm sure you had periods of shedding, followed by periods or regrowth that made you think it was going to get better, that's what I went through, now I just can't wait any longer.
