Just went to the dermatologist again

Well I have been on propecia for about 7 months now, and I decided to go back to the dermatologist for a check up. I have been feeling really down about my hair since I believe it has just gotten worse and worse. I am a diffuse thinner in the norwood 7 pattern. When the dr. saw my hair he said he was happy with my density and not to worry. I dont know, I mean I am glad to have what I do have, but I just wish I could have a thick head of hair like I used to. I just added minoxidil about 2 weeks ago so I am hoping that will help. I see the situation irishpride is in and I believe I am in a similiar situation. Minor thinning when I started and now diffuse thinning througout my head. The back of my head is fine but the sides of my head seem thin as well. I feel like maybe I should go to another dr to get a third opinion (awhile back I went to a hair specialist and it was a waste of time). I am going to keep going with treatment and see where I am at at the one year mark. Also, I am only taking .5 mg of propecia due to not being able to tolerate higher dosages (gyno). I will keep you guys updated.

If you want my honest opinion? If you are norwood 7, your best best would be to save your money. You will get much better results with a hair transplant! Research it first. If you don't like this, just shave your head.

Finasteride is better at keeping what you have. It does'nt regrow some hair which are not terminal. Minoxidil is brilliant for the crown but you will greatly struggle to get maximum density on the front hair.

Hope this helps. In the long run, at your stage, a hair transplant may be actually the cheaper option.

I am not a norwood 7, I technically have hair all over my hair with a bit of a mature hair line, but my thinning is in a norwood 7 pattern, I am a lot like irishpirdes hair.

Worst advice ever. Do not listen to this guy. Way wrong on every point, except that propecia helps you keep what you have.

You are NOT an hair transplant candidate. Keep doing what you are doing. Though I recommend buying EGCG (an extract of green tea) and mixing up in everclear and distilled water. Add that all over your head. It is cheap and experimental, but could slow the balding process and regrow some, and leave your scalp a bit brown, which would hide the scalp more (is your hair brown?).

I plan to use it instead of dermmatch. Refridgerate, and add drops of something acidic to it to help reserve it.
