Karma has come around on friends...

Is it wrong to take enjoyment out of the fact that my friends who made fun of my thinning in the crown are now thinning all over their heads? I am not going to even recommend the big 3 to them so, while they have the horseshoe look, I'll at least have some hair.

I shouldn't be so mean but people who make fun of people who are losing hair have no idea how emotionally distressing it is.

Thinking about this a little further; when I've been in similar situations myself I think I've tried to still do the right thing and help the other party if I can.

So maybe enjoy watching them squirm for a little while, then step in and be the "better person" and offer them some of your wisdom.

It does not always pay off, but more often than not you'll feel better about it :)

Well, you are right. It's just annoying how insensitive those little bastards were haha. I have a rule I follow when making fun of friends...I never make fun of something that they can't change such as hair loss, size of their nose etc. It's just kind of cruel.

I won't approach them with help but when they're hair loss is far more progressed than mine and they ask me what I've done I suppose I will help them....after I let them on a bit ;).

When I was a teenager I used to envy James Richardson from the old Italian football coverage for his style and charisma (as I did Zidane and a few other baldy football types), I even flirted with the idea of razor blading my own hair when I was 19/20.

Maybe it is Karma in action, I was mean to a hell of alot of people when I was younger.

I don't necessarily believe in karma myself. I just find it slightly humorous to see it come around on those friends. One of them puts gel in his hair the same way he has for years but now you can see clear through to his scalp yet the sides mushroom out. Needless to say, they don't much make the jokes anymore.

If karma is real I'm sure it's come upon me for being vain in my teenage years.

Everyone is vain in their teenage years. It's when you first get concerned about your looks, yet some of the most vain people keep all their hair.

Well instead of vain I suppose I should say cocky. I was a bit of an *** haha

Most of the dicks I knew in high school are losing their hair as well as getting fat though.

I dont believe in karma ...bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people as well you know..its just another dumb religious philosophy.

Us baldies always want to blame something for our hairloss - be it being a bad person, a bad diet, taking on too much stress etc when really there isn't the evidence that its anything other than genetics. I suppose its part of the coping process - you can overcome the problem by naming it and finding a cause for it, however fictional that cause is.

I don't believe in Karma as a force. I just use the word ''Karma'' to describe a just and ironic circumstance.

Ditto.

Never really got why so many people take such pleasure in when some poor bastard loses his hair. My ex saw her old boyfriend at a children's party picking up his kid, and was delighted that he'd lost his hair. Wasn't particularly sympathetic with me when mine started thinning either. Some people love going for your weaknesses.

So yeh, they're out there. In my whole life, I've never laughed at someone for it, but hey karma my arse, it still hit me with a force that has taken over my pretty lousy life now. And yeh those people must have the devil on their side, because the ones who did, even in to their 50s still have thick hair.

Life can be crap. Only we know what it can do to us. I've not had a proper night's sleep since mine got very noticeable. Would I admit that to any of these people? hell no, you just live with the pain of it. Family are no use either. It's a tough old world out there for most people living with it, and most don't or will never understand until they experience it, how devastating losing your hair can be.

One of my friends was making fun of me one time and said it looked like my hair was starting to recede. Of course I think that started to make me feel paranoied about my hairloss something I still feel to this day. But at the time said person had long shaggy hair and was confident he would never bald because his father had perfect hair.

Fast forward 3 years and he has the worst receding hairline out of all my friends haha. When we compared our group to DBZ characters (cause were cool like that) he was said to be Vegeta. Haha. Take that for making me paranoied you dick.

But aside from that hes a really cool guy and I hope its just a mature hairline for his sake. I'm not cruel enough to want anybody to go bald.

Someone at work mentioned my hair in front of other people in the office. Very insensitive. I could have said to him back that his temples are receding badly, but I didn't. Whether it is thinning on top, or receding back, it's still hair loss, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone, especially if you haven't got the security of a loving wife or girlfriend who loves you for who you are.

Yeah, that situation is the worst when they make fun of it in front of a large group. In all sincerity though, I really don't wish the emotional anguish and constant anxiety that goes along with losing your hair. It's just that when you've politely asked your friends plenty of times to avoid making fun of that one aspect and they continue to be insensitive, it kind of makes you feel a bit better that it's happening to them as well. I honestly haven't made fun of them once for it in return though because I know how bad it feels.

It was an especially hard blow for me because I was always known for my long hair. I always got told I looked like Dr. Chase off of House. Once I started losing that I went into a long depression. I have since come to terms with it but I do fight it, and hopefully I can continue fighting it well into my forties.

wasn't the idea behind karma - if you're a dick in this life you're going to pay in the next one not now? Bad people would have to suffer in next incarnation (assuming such thing exists).

Yes you're right...and presumably us baldies are paying for the sins of whoever we were in our previous life.

I must have been a right c*nt. :punk:

Just to be clear, I have no belief what-so-ever in karma as a mystical force righting injustice and rewarding the good (or in any other mystical force or great sky daddy for that matter). I do however believe in trying to be a decent person and more often than not it has benefits in life, not least of which is the fact I have fantastic friends and a terrific social circle :)
