I live in Eastern Europe (Romania). If in Russia or Poland, headshaved is not an issue, here its quite the far opposite.

there certainly are countries that got a harsher view on balding than others, but those are usually a few asian countries and thats it...

There's truth to this however. It's basically this: if a country is more liberalised, the traditional gender roles will have all but disappeared, and your function as a man will therefore change. In the West a man is a commodity, in other parts of the world he still is a provider. In the first case the emphasis is on being able to give her those romantic sparks and being able to entertain her ( = looks and charisma ), the latter is more down to traditional masculinity and financial means. Of course it isn't a perfect dichotomy, and the game is changing over there as well, but there are still differences. It's easy to deduce in what part of the world baldness is the biggest handicap

Edit: there's also a a difference in the cultural perception of balding. In Russia for example, zalysiny ( meaning temple loss, NW1 till 3 ) is seen as completely normal even in young age. More young men are bald/receding over there as well — or rock hideous haircuts. Makes you stand out far less as a balding ogre

We can try to understand it though. We have consciousness. Which with we created science to understand reality, psychology/sociology to understand life, and art to give meaningful expression to both. Sexual frustration doesn't really come into the picture I think
