hey guys,

BACKGROUND

basically, ive been working out on-and-off for about the last 2 years, more seriously only for the last 1 1/2 years.

when i say on-and-off, i mean i might go to the gym 3-4x a week for about a month, then stop for a month if i get too busy/lose interest, and the cycle basically repeats itself.

over the period of the month that i do go to the gym, i always took protein shakes, 3x per day, and ate 3 decent meals a day. however, i reckon im a hard gainer, and im naturally quite a slim person. at one point last year, i worked out 3-4x per week, consistently for about 2 months, watching my diet closely and having shakes 3x per day. i know a decent amount about weight training, changing routines, etc. i was a bit dissatisfied with my results, which put me off a bit.

im 19 years old.

CREATINE

ive read a fair bit about this supp, and its effects on water retention, lactic acid buildup, etc. im thinking about giving it a try because, although im not foolish enough to expect (or want) anything to be a "miracle" in terms of muscle mass gain, i would like to see better results than i have in the past.

i would like anyones advice on taking this supplement please...also, if i begin creatine, should i still have the same protein intake, and be taking my 3x daily protein shakes?

im interested to hear other peoples personal stories about creatine...is the gain in strength in the loading period accompanied by aesthetic results generally? and how are gains like with long-term use?

thanks very much!

ps - one thing that always confuses me is carb intake. i always hear that carbs are key to mass...im looking to put on lean muscle mass without putting on any/much fat. what should my carb intake be like? my protein shake that i use only contains around 6g carbs, should i be using a weight gainer that provides 20+g of carbs?

or is this unrealistic, and do i have to put on the fat first, then burn it off later? or is it possible to be doing a fair amount of cardio while weight training, and it not being detrimental to my gains.

this is possibly the issue that i find most difficult to decide on in weight training.

I use Creatine for several months now and it works wonders for me.
At first use I could put on several pound in one week, it helped me to gain like 8 lbs and while using it it MASSIVELY lowers muscle soreness, so I'm able to train every other day if I want and additionally have more stamina during workout.
But you have to drink huge amounts of water while on creatine, that's for sure.
