Bitemporal Recession

I am a 23 year old who, after noticing some minor bi-temporal recession about a year ago, has now decided to take the Finasteride plunge as a preventative measure. I can say flat out that I will not be able to afford the outrageous price of Propecia. This leads me to a number of questions:

1. Is splitting a 5mg Proscar pill still the most affordable means of getting Finasteride?

2. Is this method safe?

3. Is it OK to start off at 1.25mg from the get-go, or should I work my way up?

4. Any advice on getting a doctor to prescribe Proscar? I hear many are reluctant to do so.

Thank you in advance for your help.

1. Yes

2. There are arguments for and against some people develop sides some people don't. You wont know until you try it. (review all the sides first and see if you would be comfortable with any)

3. I think 0.5mg is nearly as effective as 1.25mg. There is a chart available somewhere that shows the mg vs reduction in blood DHT levels for exact answer

4. Just tell them you have researched the topic and you need it for hair loss. If that fails try the dermatologist
