Hello, I'm a 21 year old male experiencing some thinning of my hair. My brother, now 30, is somewhat bald so I know I will get bald too. My shedding isn't bad, I don't wake up with hair everywhere and when I shower I don't clog the drain. I have just noticed recently that after when I shower the top of my head looks really thin, almost to the point where I can see scalp.
I was wondering if rogain would work or should I take finasteride? I have also heard of dutasteride, would that be a good option?

Get in Finasteride. Take 1mg/day. It's easy and theres nothing to it. Chance of getting sides is close to 2% despite anything said on these forums. Also start using nizoral 1% shampoo.

In a few years when finasteride doesn't have the punch you first get first taking it, get with minoxidil. dutasteride is a last resort.

Definitely the first thing to do is to get on Finasteride ASAP so your thinning hair won't keep getting worse. When you're stable on Finasteride, then from there you can always add Minoxidil (Rogaine) for any potential hair regrowth. About Dutasteride, most won't need to get on it right away since Finasteride itself is strong enough at maintaining hair.
