Here is my question, I take generic finpecia from Inhouse pharmacy. When I take it consistently my skin becomes pretty oily overall and the over production seems to cause a type of dematitis in the creases of my nose, sometimes behind the ears, but that's not my question. My question is does this over production of facial oil cause hair loss to increase or hurt my chances of growing hair? I noticed a pretty recent shed lately and my hair looks terrible, but when I run my hands in my hair I can feel stubble's in those 'trouble' areas. I also have scalp acne I can see, or red bumps which seem to occur with the laser comb, are these bumps good or bad? Help!!!

Let's get this straight. Since taking finasteride on a consistent basis the oil production on your face has increased and you are concerned about the possibility that increased oil production will lead to increased hair loss, correct?

This is not the type of question to be asking on a hair loss forum. I doubt that even a doctor will give you the answer's that you are after because we need to know the underlying cause of the increased oil production.

Finasteride has been known to increase free testosterone levels because less is being converted to DHT. It's possible that increased testosterone is responsible for your oily face and acne. However, this is just speculation because you are asking about symptoms of your body on a web forum. I can tell you now that this is probably the best speculative answer that you will receive.
