Making the leap!

After reading many threads on this forum... I was scared as crap! However, after taking a step back and realizing that this forum doesn't represent a good representation of users of this drug (no offense to anyone, it's just that more people with negative experiences are naturally drawn to post their stories on a site such as this, rather than people with positive ones), I think that finasteride/proscar/propecia (all the same, I know) has the potential to be a fantastic drug and is the most promising treatment method for male pattern baldness on the market today. So, why not give it a shot?

I am a norwood 1.5 (if possible), or at the most a 2. I am 20 years old and this is my first attempt at using any treatment method. I went to a dermatologist about nine months ago, he recommended propecia (as did my general doctor). I am using a generic for proscar, by the way. (30 pills, once cut into fifths, will be a five month supply. And it only cost me $10 with my insurance).

I am going to take my first dose tonight (when is the best time to take it, out of curiosity. Or does it not matter, so long as you standardize your method?) and I plan on keeping everyone updated on my progress. Wish me luck and thank you all for the wealth of information that is on this forum.

DON"T TAKE IT. I took Propecia for a couple years. It crushed my sex drive. I am married, and 40, and my wife's drive is much lower than mine, so that was OK, maybe even good. BUT, I started having anxiety/depression type symptoms, and felt very 'OFF'. It just got worse and worse, until I read a post on here by a guy who had all the same things happen to him as I was experiencing, including very specific things not mentioned here. I stopped immediately, and slowly things have returned to normal. Do a search on here and elsewhere, and look into the possible negative side effects. It is a complicated chain of events in the body that this drug triggers. It messed me up BAD. And the effects do not go away over night. I have been off of it for about two years, and it has taken most of that for me to feel close to 100%

Look, we all are devastated by losing our hair, and looking older than we feel. I understand that, If I didn't I wouldn't be on here looking for the next cure. But to take something every day that can and will cause some harm to yourself is just not worth it.

I do believe the stuff works, a LITTLE. You're not going to take six months of this stuff or even a year, and look like you did prior to hair loss. It just isn't going to happen. Some or all of the negative stuff might happen though.

You decide-There are safer alternatives. Good luck, and again---BE CAREFUL

just because propecia didn't work for you, there's no reason to automatically recommend an unproven product like revivogen.

i used revivogen, my shedding stopped during use, but my hair continued to receed.

so i, like many others, do not think revivogen alone is useful.

i really think that lately people are trying to promote a product that is 2nd rate.

if you are concerned about hairloss, try propecia 1st.

if it gives you any sides whatsoever, stop taking it, then consider alternatives.

don't expect miracles from revivogen. it's been around for ages. there aren't many people who keep using it.

Exactly. The guys who got satisfactory (or better) results aren't hanging around here.

You have posted that at least four times here. Enough. Don't do it again.

propecia is for men only

Does it say that right on the label?

It may be for men only, but funny enough it has this habit of destroying the LIBIDO on some men.

What does manhood mean to you?

Well I may have used the wrong word, English is not my 1st language you know. Let's just say libido then. Happy? :smack:  I do realize (now) that manhood usually means ones penis, I knew it but sometimes it's hard to think in your 2nd language...
