OKAY SO.. I am just stating my opinions on this whole balding bojangles. I say they are my opinions be cause they kind of lack substance to be theories and I am open to people shredding my views.. just as well as people who will take what I say and tell me what THEY think/know and fully understand.
Anyways, I too have been experiencing prostate problems since mid 2011 which is also when I started noticing my hair shedding in the shower. I totally thought it was telogen effluvium because I had some long hippie hair all over so I thought it was just hair from all around. I gave it 3-4 months for it to stop then I started noticing JUST the top of my head was visible (I'm a diffuse thinner). Believe it or not but there is no history of male pattern baldness in either side of my family. My sister has a picture with our GREAT-grandfather when she was 5 back in 1985, he was about 85 in that picture, nice THICK silver hair slicked back like Elvis lol.
Then December 2011 I cut my hair which I was dreading. I only cut my hair because my family kept begging me to cut my messy hippie hair and wanted a cleaner look. This totally finalized that it was MBP and not Telogen Effluvium, the longer hairs from the top were falling out and my scalp was very inflamed. Thank GOD my hair is still thick enough to kind of mask my scalp but its totally not as dense as before. I started researching then this site came up and started reading about how DHT and some other inflammatory properties are to blame. I tried looking for natural cures but I realized you can't just cure this kind of problem with one thing because it actually is a bunch of problems. If it were that easy then male pattern baldness would just be an infection and all it would take would be a shampoo/cream/foam or a pill/tablet for 3 weeks and it would be gone.
Lots of things have been going on with my body for awhile now and it all started with the weird tugging feeling in my abdomen like someone kicked my nuts. It went away for a few days but then I started experiencing more frequent urination and I had to squeeze a little harder (lol) for it to come out as if I was taking a deuce. Then I started experiencing this weird fatigue that never goes away no matter what time and how long I go to sleep which I thought the dark circles from my eyes came from. My mind started changing as well, I started lacking focus and clarity, and when I drive it feels like the windshield is like a TV. My mind is so neutral that I can barely experience any excitement or sadness. Most of it is just dullness and sometimes I feel a little depressed for no reason. It's weird but I kind of have a weak libido and erection and almost never have a morning wood. I'm a breakdancer and I also noticed that my excitement and energy to practice is pretty much gone, I don't feel like doing anything anymore but I force myself to just go out and practice still anyways. I just feel even more tired after.
This all started after when what I would say, aggravating my prostate which in turn also affected my adrenals which are pretty much the main areas DHT come from. This I'M SURE caused my prostate to enlarge and adrenals to be exhausted. To me, male pattern baldness is your body's distress call saying "Hey man! something is going on inside here!" and all those other symptoms in the paragraph above came along with it. I DO believe genetic predisposition of male pattern baldness, but now I believe it can also be self-induced. I think people with the genetic predisposition have more of a gradually enlarging prostate making it easier for their bodies just adjust to it which is why some of them don't feel any of what I felt from the previous paragraph and are still more healthy. Maybe that's why there's different experiences when people take things like finasteride. For me, my body probably wasn't ready for the way my prostate was enlarged because it wasn't genetically programmed to.
The things that people try on this site are probably the right steps in the right direction but don't see any further progress because there's probably a lot more steps to take after. Things I see are like the anti-inflammatory diet, excercise, lowering ejaculation frequency and supplementing certain vitamins/minerals are probably actually really good steps because it is contributing to optimal health. I think what would really do the job is something that would answer what our prostate is calling for. Something a lot less harsh than finasteride/dutasteride that can go and regulate our prostate and adrenal glands and all the other hormones/major systems our bodies that were effected. To me, I really think it could be a certain dosing of certain nutrients, a clearing of a toxin or even a hormone compound to bring a certain balance. It might even be all 3. I know that with hormonal imbalance, it can create an imbalance with all of our other systems and with the cure for male pattern baldness, it will pretty much rebalance everything and reharmonize our bodies. It could probably even be the cure for post-finasteride syndrome. But I understand that some of you think that's just me shooting dreams out of my ***.
I don't want to start by taking finasteride/min because I have enough side-effects as it is with my prostate and adrenal glands, and the scary thing is that they are all similar to TAKING those things. So I don't think it would be a good idea. But I probably would later on if I was desperate enough.
What do you all think?
