so i have noticed my hairline change over the past year. im 23 years old. last year around this time i noticed min hairs, and just recently ive noticed that my temples have gone back a cm or so, maybe less. nothing HUGE, but i have definately defined out my widows peak. my temples still arent THAT bad, but i wish i could lower them back to where they were. ive been thinking a lot on and off starting finasteride, and i actually ordered some finpecia yesterday. im a little worried about sides...

what do you guys think? is it worth starting? my hair is OK now, but not great. i would basically be taking it as insurance, and maybe with the slight chance to get back what i just lost a few months ago...

i can afford it, its just the sides that scare me.

I definatly think you should start. Just keep a careful watch for any changes in your body that might be happening. I'm not an expert, but i believe that even if you do experience sides, quitting the drug early after their appearance will almost certainly make them go away. Also, it seems as though taking a lower dosage (such as splitting your propecia in halves or more) has almost as god results with a significant decrease in the likelihood of sides. Lots of us on here wish they had started finasteride when their hair loss was just starting out, myself included. Its much easier to maintain than regrow.

p.s. this is information from things i have heard on here, others have more scientific/informed decisions
