Minixidol working for me?

So hey guys! Well, i've currently got a short story to share with you guys. I'm just curious.

So i've read numerous times now that minoxidil on it's own is completely useless. However, i've been going through my ups and downs lately and that's the only supplement ive been using.

Before i experienced my hair loss i used to work out 4~5 times a week (which i've completely stopped at the moment). It all seemed to get really intense after i've joined the military. (which now i'm no longer in)

I've been on it now for about 7~8 months? My crown area was really beginning to get so thin, especially when my hair would be a bit moist it would just shine in... But awkwardly enough, it seems like it's all turned out to be much better.

The hair at the crow seems so much thicker and i'm actually satisfied with the results to say the least. Considering the fact that the amount i've been shedding for the passt 6~7 months really freaked me out.

What i don't understand though that i'm actually still shedding. How is it that my hair does not feel thinner? As far as i remember reading, is that rogaine (i use minoxidil w/e same sh*t.) should stop your shedding within a time span of 2~3 months. Till today , however, i experience shedding (7~8 months now).

Although i'm shedding, my hair seems to have improved, IMO. I wish i could upload pictures but the pictures i've had 6~7 months ago i deleted by accident >_>

Any explanation to this? Or could it be that minioxidil is just working so well for me that my hairs keep on getting thicker and thicker therefor still renewing after 7~8 months?

My next concern again is, i really want to get in shape. I used to work out and one does still notice it, but i dunno. . . Wouldn't hurt making my body improve as well, but wouldn't that just screw me up again and i'll end up losing whatever i thickened on my crown?

How high are the chances that i've experienced hairloss because i was quite (very) saddened and depressed. Then cause i had no other choice in my country had to join the military (serve duty, which is actually only a period of 6 months here) on top of that and the stress just went on and on.

Is it actually possible that my hairloss was caused by something else? I won't lay off minoxidil either way, won't risk that.

Results vary. I think most agree that finasteride is the most effective solution for men because DHT is the prime antagonist for androgenic alopecia. It is probably the most effective for stopping/slowing hair loss, and it gives a small shot at thickening and regrowth. I have seen some amazing recovery from practically a Norwood 5 to 1, but I'm sure that is rare.

Minoxidil is an anti-inflammatory and as such it is effective in reducing the bodies inflammatory response that is generated by androgens binding to the receptors at the follicle. I believe it to be decent at thickening if using finasteride. Used alone I think it is mainly good at holding ground. Most of the gains I've seen on minoxidil alone were so tiny that it seemed pointless

Given the information above, most men serious about hair loss will choose to use both, and they will throw in Nizoral because it is cheap and also effective for both inflammation and androgens. There are some people out there who have amazing results with one or the other, although I'd say most do better with finasteride for a variety of reasons. Finasteride is more convenient to use, and you don't have to deal with dry scalp, itchining, and other side effects of minoxidil that should be handled accordingly to optimize regrowth.

I would be happy if you are getting results using minoxidil, but I would be tempted to start with .5 mg of finasteride to see how effective it is for you. At .5 mg it is not expensive and side effects should be minimal.
