Hi, I started using minoxidil 10% solution with finasteride 1mg 2 years back. I got results initially after shedding phase. I have stopped the treatment for nearly 6 months and had lot of shedding. I am unaware that i will lose my regrown hair when i stop minoxidil and finasteride. My doctor haven't informed me about this. So after searching some forums I started continuing using minoxidil in everyday for the past 2 months. I have searched the side effects of finasteride and stopped using finasteride. Now my everyday plan is this. I use 10% minoxidil foam every night and also use nizral shampoo 3 times every week. I am following this for the past 2 months. I think i am under shedding phase again and I am losing all my hair. My questions are as follows:
1. Should I continue using 10% foam everynight? When I used twice a day before there was a lot of itching and scalp damage. SO i switched to Once per day.
2. As I see my hairs shedding, Does it mean that my hair is under shedding phase of minoxidil? Or I am loosing my hair as normal? But I can say that when I stopped using minoxidil there would be more than a hundred hair on every hairwash. But now i can see nearly 30. I can say that with or without hair wash I lose nearly 30 hairs.
Kindly guide me through this. I am not using finasteride again. I just need some regrowth in my scalp for few years until I can afford a stem cell therapy.
