Had amazing hair procedure done last week. Will need to apply minoxidil to recipient area in one week. Dont want to use standard Rogaine becasue of how how itchy it makes my scalp.

Anybody know anything about the effectiveness of Dr Lee's Minoxidil 5% without Propylene Glycol?

Why do so many people always refer to it as "minoxidil 5%" instead of "5% minoxidil"? When you go to a grocery store, do you think to yourself, "I need to pick up a carton of milk 2%"??

Why would anybody capitalize the word "minoxidil"? It's just the name of a chemical, it's not a proper noun. You would definitely capitalize "Rogaine", but not "minoxidil". Similarly, you would capitalize "Propecia", but not "finasteride".

Don't people know to capitalize the first word of every sentence, not to mention "English", which is a proper noun? :)

And finally: it's an English test, not a English test!

Bryan, you're right. However, don't forget that for a lot of people English isn't their native language (and in some languages we actually DO say "minoxidil 5%").

So could you stop going off-topic all the time to correct people. It's more annoying then the initial mistakes you're trying to correct. You could have at least answered the OP's question while you were at it.

Back on topic:

I didn't respond well to minoxidil with PPG. After a while, my scalp was so messed up I actually started to lose more hair and the itch made me go crazy.

Now I'm using a minoxidil solution with glycerine instead of PPG. It has worked wonders. No itching, no irritation and more hair.

Glycerine actually hydrates the scalp and makes up for the drying effect of alcohol. Since I'm using it, I have no more dry scalp issues as well.

BTW, if you're not from the US then try asking your local pharmacist to make you a minoxidil solution without PPG. It's cheaper than Lee's.

Oh yes, I'm very well aware of that. But even a shocking number of people who DO speak English as their native language use that strange "minoxidil 5%" term. Remember, I've been reading hairloss sites for a long long time! :)

I only do it occasionally. Sometimes something comes over me, and I just can't resist the temptation!
